Focusing on sourcing the best local produce, combined with proper cooking in a relaxed informal service, it’s located just 100 metres from the Royal William Yard.
From the secret spot of The Hidden Olive, you will find beautiful views across Sutton Harbour Marina. Its huge menu, filled with fresh and local food, offers great vegan and vegetarian options for breakfast, lunch and dinner. A cool, casual atmosphere, you might also like to be part of its gin club and special events such as the vegan dining taster menu, or if you’re a student, take advantage of its special deals.
Serving everything from homemade cakes and light lunches, to afternoon tea, and dimly-lit dinners, RumpusCosy is a vintage tea parlour and bistro, said to be headed by badger Lord Peregrine RumpusCosy. Sink into sofas and armchairs, sit at dining tables, and even find out about their “snuggariums”. Featuring gold-leafed walls, gold-fish tanks and lovely lighting, food comes from both Devon and Cornwall, and you can expect and exciting seasonal menu when you visit. To add to its unique charm, it even has a wide programme of events, including music, poetry, film, and other performances, with an adjoining art gallery.
Serving both lunch and dinner, The Mission is a cosy restaurant featuring high ceilings with 19th-century charm. Its quirky credentials are because it once was the Thomas Mission Hall. Located in the cobbled streets of Sir John Hawkins Square, the building itself used to serve hot soup and milk puddings to the poor in 1901, and it has continued to evolve as somewhere where all the community come together.
